Introduction to Kathmandu Printers Association (KPA)
We can trace the institutional efforts to organize printers in the country to 4th Aswin 2035 BS (19 July 1978 AD), when the Nepal Printer Association was organized under the chairmanship of senior Press Entrepreneur Govinda Bahadur Malla (Gothale). In that time, it was very difficult to establish any organization or association. In those circumstances, formation of Printer's Association was made possible only due to courage and unity of the printers themselves. As a result of the continuity of the association since then, grand assembly of the printers' was held on 5th Magh 2068 BS (19th January 2012 AD) and subsequently led to the formation of adhoc committee of Kathmandu Printers Association under the co-ordinatorship of senior Press Entrepreneur Prem Kumar Upadhyaya. Kathmandu Printers' Association (KPA) was formally registered first in District Development committee on 19th Aswin 2069 (5th October 2012), in CDO office on 22nd Aswin 2069 (8th October 2012) then in IRD on 3rd Magh 2069 (16th January 2013).
